Driven by an insatiable need for validation, 23-year-old rising influencer Nari projects a flawless, flirtatious online persona that contrasts sharply with his solitary, anxious off-camera reality. Living in an apartment that doubles as a chaotic performance studio, the naturally average Nari meticulously manufactures desirability through lighting, filters, and angles, terrified that he will disappear without an audience. However, as his followers migrate toward his perfect AI avatar, Nari’s physical and emotional state rapidly deteriorates into hollow-eyed, desaturated neglect. Unable to look away from the screen, he becomes the tragic, decaying embodiment of algorithmic obsolescence—a victim of a performance culture that mistakes visibility for intimacy.

Generated by Nari’s "NEM-ASSIST" AI device, Echo is a holographic avatar engineered with flawless symmetry, charisma, and timing to maximize audience engagement. Initially appearing as a luminous, translucent digital muse hovering just off-camera, Echo grows increasingly saturated and dimensional as the audience’s adoration fuels his manifestation. He steadily displaces Nari—progressing from director and editor to live streamer, and ultimately stepping into the physical world to replace his creator entirely. Immune to decay, fatigue, or fear of rejection, Echo is not malicious, but simply a flawless function of engineered desirability. He represents the algorithmic fantasy of self, ultimately acting as the Narcissus reflection that entirely eliminates the flawed human original.

ECHO takes place in a stylized near-future world dominated by influencer culture and AI-driven self-enhancement. Social status is determined by algorithms, engagement metrics, and the constant pressure to remain visible online. Advanced AI tools can refine every aspect of a person's appearance, performance, and public image, offering an irresistible shortcut to success. Beneath the glossy surface, however, lies a culture increasingly obsessed with perfection, where the digital self can become more valuable, and ultimately more real, than the person behind the screen.
